Scurvy is a disease caused by a lack of Vitamin C in the system. Elements of the disease include teeth and hair falling out, but it is a very slow process. It also makes someone terribly unattractive.
Imagine an elephant with scurvy. This is the point of Jim McCarthy’s latest blog.
“I am a very proud scurvy elephant, and so should any new business venture,” said McCarthy.
McCarthy’s point is very simple. People will come out of the woodwork to give suggestions and ideas on a business. Most will involve spending more of your money.
McCarthy has a much different approach. Ignore 99 percent of what is said.
“If their advice worked, why aren’t they in business and earning the big dollars?” asked McCarthy.
This is the point of the latest post on his popular blog.
Following the pack and taking advice from everyone does not define success. Success comes from stepping up and out of your comfort zone. This is becoming a ‘scurvy elephant.’
McCarthy finds this to be true for both himself and for many others. He delves into a specific story on his newest blog as to how the term originated.
“It is a great story with a better ending. The person behind the story is well known and very successful in many ways,” said McCarthy.
McCarthy wants anyone who is interested in learning how to be a scurvy elephant to read up on it.
“Eat an orange before you do, just in case,” said McCarthy, chuckling.
McCarthy is referring to a series posts on his online business blog. Each post has a different focus.
