Why this is the Perfect Christmas Gift for someone running the London Marathon or Boston Marathon

Runners signed up for the London Marathon or the Boston Marathon, need to start training in December, so this guide is the perfect Christmas gift for them.

ListFree.org (Press Release) - Wednesday, November 13th, 2013

Cold, dark and wet, December is traditionally the party month with most people over-indulging in festive food and drink. Few people are thinking about running a marathon at Christmas… but for runners with a place in a marathon in the spring, such as the London Marathon or the Boston Marathon, the time to begin training is December!

Nick Mitchell, Personal Trainer and experienced marathon runner warns marathon entrants not to leave their preparation too late: “You must start training with adequate time to enable you to progress to the stage where you can finish and enjoy the race.” Nick says, “You will need at least 16 weeks to train for a marathon.”

The London Marathon takes place on 13 April 2014 and so, counting back 16 weeks, that brings us back to 22 December! The Boston Marathon is on 21 April 2014, so 16-weeks training would begin 30 December.

Many people do not prepare adequately for running a marathon and live to regret it when they struggle to finish or their races end in injury. For example, of the people who are awarded a place in the London marathon, a whopping 27% do not make it over the finish line to collect their medals.

Nick has witnessed many people hit the wall, or stop through avoidable injuries, sustained through a lack of preparedness. Research shows that the majority of entrants that don’t finish didn’t even make it to the start line. Nick is saddened by this and says that in the majority of these cases, proper planning, training and preparing can prevent a non-finish.

Nick says: “People are often impressed when they find out the races I take part in but it’s really not that hard if you get yourself organised by following a plan. I’ve been running marathons for years and I achieve my goals because I’ve got a proven system that I use and it works every time.”

Now Nick wants to let you into the secret so you can follow his plan and you too can breeze across that finishing line wearing a huge smile. He’s painstakingly logged advice, insider tips and secrets so you, or someone you know, can benefit from his experience. Nick says: “Over the years I’ve learned what to do, and what not to do and now you can fast-track to experience.”
