The first of its kind in the UK, this conference is aimed at raising awareness and improving understanding of the powerful Kundalini energy within every human being.
Called by different names depending on the religion or philosophy one refers to — Adi Shakti, Kundalini, Holy Spirit, Life Force, Primal Spirit, or Ruh — the names may be different; but the energy’s the same, no matter what the individual’s religion, country of origin, culture, or language is.
The conference explores the hidden, dormant energy centers in the body, their potential and pitfalls. First and foremost is the serpent power, Kundalini. Yes, the name is becoming known. But there’s a lot more to this powerful energy than the popular press publicizes or beginner Kundalini Yoga classes teach. There’s a lot of misinformation, too.
In fact, most people really don’t know very much about it, least of all its true potential, how to activate it, or how to live with it. Mindful of the burgeoning interest in Kundalini, author and organizer, Margaret Dempsey has assembled a perfect complement of Kundalini experts and trusted sources, from the spiritual, medical and educational communities.
Frances Goodall, an integrative alternative health practitioner, addresses her personal experience with Kundalini and her research on how this energy awakens opportunities for personal healing and freedom.
Steve Taylor explores the connection between intense psychological turmoil and sudden awakening. Eckhart Tolle has described Steve’s work as “an important contribution to the shift in consciousness happening on our planet.”
JJ Semple is the author of two books on Kundalini and its role in human evolution, “Deciphering the Golden Flower One Secret at a Time” and “The Backward-Flowing Method: The Secret of Life and Death.” He will discuss the scientific exploration of consciousness and his collaboration with Sri Gopi Krishna.
Shiv Charan Singh is the founding director of the International Karam Kriya Yoga School. An authentic spiritual teacher, he is deeply committed to guiding students to develop their full potential as human beings.
Catherine G Lucas is the author of “In Case of Spiritual Emergency: Moving Successfully Through Your Awakening.” Clients have included the NHS and the MoD. She has worked with soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan and has been featured on BBC Radio 4, CBS Radio Washington and New Connexion TV.
Kwali Kumara teaches Kundalini Yoga and Gong Meditation as taught by Yogi Bhajan and has been a devoted guardian and healer for over a decade. She will use a live snake to discuss the serpent as the symbol of Kundalini.
Sarah Culliford has been a nurse for the past 35 years working in physical, psychological and psychiatric health. She specialises in spirituality, working as a Spiritual Advocate in the NHS.
Isabel Clarke, a consultant clinical psychologist in the NHS, has published and presented extensively on the psychology of spirituality. Her publications, “Psychosis and Spirituality: Consolidating the New Paradigm” (Wiley 2010) and “Madness, Mystery and the Survival of God” (O-Books 2008) explore the themes of spirituality, mental health and being human.
The speakers will cover: Activating Kundalini, managing Kundalini energy in the real world, distinguishing between Kundalini and Psychosis, mental health and spirituality, preparing for Kundalini awakenings.
