Piscología received gold medal on November 18th, 2011. Special HoneyLove cocktail featured Dry Soda at the G2 Gallery in Venice, CA
San Diego, California – On November 18, 2011, Topa Spirits, LLC celebrated Piscología’s gold medal award for quebranta pisco at the Concurso Nacional de Pisco in Lima, Peru. Over 400 pisco wineries with their Denomination of Origins from a pisco-producing region participated in the yearly contest. The award reflects the quality and craftsmanship of the white brandy. “We are honored to receive this gold medal award and celebrate the work completed with my partners Krystle Hicks and Meg McFarland,” said Fernando Gonzales Lattini, Master Distiller of Piscología. “The Ica region has some of the best pisco producers in the world, and we are proud to be among them”. The annual festival not only attracted producers, but also famous chefs, bartenders, exporters, hoteliers, international buyers, distributors, and the general public with interest in the product. Its main goal was to promote the image of pisco as the symbol of Peru, present it to buyers, demonstrate advances in technology of production, and promote responsible consumption. Meanwhile in California, the company prepared for HoneyLove’s Yellow Tie Event, a fundraiser for the conservation organization with a mission to protect the honeybees and inspire new urban beekeepers. Piscología Pisco was served in a specialty cocktail with Seattle-based Dry Soda. Topa Spirits’ brand ambassador, Frankie Thaheld, created the cocktail recipe with honey, lemons and Blood Orange Dry Soda. Over 200 people gathered at the event at the G2 Gallery in Venice, California on Saturday, November 19 at 7:00 PM. Participants enjoyed yellow carpet photos, a honey tasting from local beekeepers, a silent auction, and a special performance by Los Angeles band Leftover Cuties in addition to the fun drinks. “It was a memorable evening, I had fun mixing organic hone with Piscología, learning about bees and educating a friendly group of people about pisco,” said Tanya Talampas, Marketing and Events Coordinator of Piscología
