Those who have money can buy clothes for themselves, but what about those who don’t have the money to buy any? This is the thought on which Thecityfans.com is based on. The company is built around this social cause that for every T-shirt someone buys, thecityfans.comdonates a new t-shirt to a poor kind for free. Hence, their tagline is “One for you, One from You”. Their social cause is first of its kind in India which no other company has ever done yet. Not only their social cause, are their designs also unique.

The T-shirt designs are based on ‘connection’ and ‘pride’. Connection of people with their cities, states, travelling destinations etc.  It represents people’s love for city or the city they fell in love with. The merchandise that has a blend of the Urban and ‘Desi andaaz’ in a manner that allows people to creatively express their emotions through what they wear. Currently, the company has designs for Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore in metro cities. In States, the company had designs for Rajasthan including places like Kota, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, and Ranthambhore. The company has launched Gujarat and Punjab designs today including the cities like Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Amritsar, Chandigarh and Patiala.

 

As per the founders, In India you can see people wearing U.S., U.K., London and San Francisco T-shirts but you don’t see people wearing designs with Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh etc., mostly because these T-shirts are not available in the market. The company wants to bring the local pride in their people by being a one stop shop for city and state T-shirts. Their designs are already being appreciated internationally, and people are inquiring international shipping. The company will soon start shipping internationally.

The company also does custom printing on T-shirts with no minimum number. Their product range currently includes round neck T-shirts, V-neck T-shirts, Polo T-shirts and Hoodies. They plan to add more products soon.

 

About the Founders:

 

Started by 3 people, Pragesh Satija, Preksha Satija and Mahipesh Satija, the company was launched on April 14th. The duo Pragesh Satija and his wife Preksha Satija, were in United States of America before returning to Kota, Rajasthan. Pragesh has done his MBA from Cal State University. Before starting Thecityfans.com he has worked in U.S. for 4 years with a Healthcare company, an online start up and Wells Fargo, the biggest bank in US. Preksha has done her M.S. from Cal State University and has worked for 6 years with Symantec, the biggest software security company. Mahipesh Satija, co-founder came up with the idea of starting up a T-shirt company after he visited California to his brother where he saw people wearing San Francisco and New York T-shirts everywhere.
